This is a fun Halloween-themed game for pre-schoolers that get them moving while also learning vocabulary. The activity can also be adapted for any vocabulary.
Before class, I printed some small pictures of various vocabulary items related to Halloween. There were around five copies of each item. After reviewing the vocabulary with the children, I had them close their eyes while I hid the items around the room. Then, I asked the children to find the items, one type at a time. For example, "Find me the ghosts!" At that point, all of the children went looking for the ghosts to bring back to me. Once all of the ghosts were returned, I then asked the children to bring me back another item. This was repeated until everything was returned. We did two full rounds of the scavenger hunt.
