This is a simple, but fun, way for primary and even some secondary students to review vocabulary. One by one, students come to the front of class and choose a random vocabulary word. I do this by writing the words on folded slips of paper and having the students take one randomly. Then, they may choose whether to act, describe, or draw the word until the class guesses correctly. Another option is to randomly decide whether students must act, describe, or draw the vocabulary word. This could be done using an online pinwheel. Usually, I allow the first person to guess correctly to be the next volunteer. However, to prevent the same students from repeating too many times, it also a good idea to choose the next person randomly. Another issue is that some words may not be equally feasible to act, describe, or draw. For example, some abstract concepts may be easily described but difficult to draw. This must be kept in mind when designing this activity. Otherwise, this is a great way for students to utilize multiple creativity skills while also reviewing vocabulary.
